Dallas International Airport Parking

Dallas Fort Worth Airport is located almost perfectly equidistant from the two cities of Dallas and Fort Worth, in the state of Texas, America. This large airport is also nearby the areas of Bedford, Grapevine, Euless and South Lake, as well as Dallas’ other airport, Love Field. Over 69 million passengers pass through Dallas Airport each year, making it one of the largest airports in the world. It is also ranked as the third busiest airport in the world in terms of aircraft movements. The airport is known as DFW, and consists of five terminals well equipped to support the needs of departing and arriving passengers. Motorists will find plenty of convenient parking options at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, including valet parking options, and will find parking rates to be reasonably priced.

Motorists can access Dallas-Fort Worth Airport from a number of prominent freeways. Some of which are nearby include the TX-121, or Airport Freeway, the TX-360, or Angus G. Wynne Junior Freeway, the TX-183 and the two Interstates 30 and 35. Within the airport complex, the International Parkway and Airport Drive are the main roads. The International Parkway splits the grounds of the airport into two sections, while Airport Drive can be found to the western side. Passengers driving to the airport should allow plenty of time for travelling, at least an hour from Dallas or Fort Worth during peak hour traffic, and at least half an hour in usual traffic. Sufficient time should also be allowed for finding suitable parking, and for transferring by bus to the terminals, as some parking areas are more remotely located.

The five terminals at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport have their own parking garages, which all provide easy access to the upper and lower roadways of the airport. The terminal buildings at the airport are labelled as A, B, C, D and E, and many of them are hubs of American Airlines and American Eagle. Passengers on the secure airside of the terminals can move to other terminals via the Skylink, which is the new high-speed airport train of DFW. On the landside of the airport, buses are available for transfer to other terminals.

Besides the nearby parking garages of each terminal building, there are also more remote parking areas, express parking areas and valet parking options. The Remote North and Remote South parking lots of Dallas-Fort Worth Airport are quite far, and are therefore served by free airport shuttle vans. From these two parking areas, the buses are fully accessible for disabled passengers who need a wheelchair for mobility. The buses are available 24 hours a day, and every few minutes from the parking area and the terminals.

The airport facility itself is also fully accessible for disabled passengers, with ramps and lifts to alternative levels, and staff who can provide their assistance. However, to and from parking areas other than the Remote North and Remote South parking lots, shuttle buses and vans may not be accessible. A wheelchair accessible van can however be requested from the parking area by use of a courtesy phone. The number to call is 4-2527. Passengers can also ask one of the bus drivers to organize an accessible vehicle. Once returning to Dallas Airport, passengers should only request a special bus once they are ready to leave for the parking areas, and should be waiting alongside the curb, as the driver cannot wait for passengers. Therefore, all baggage collections, shopping etc should be done before calling for a driver.

Disabled drivers will find designated parking spaces in all parking lots of Dallas Airport. At the garages, these spaces are located nearby the entrances to the buildings for arrivals and departures. Passengers may also park their vehicles in the one hour areas for longer periods provided they display their disabled parking tag or license plate. Some of the parking garages are however, due to height restrictions, inaccessible by buses with wheelchair lifts.

Other parking areas at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport include the Express North and Express South parking lots. Shuttle vans provide transport from these two areas as well. The first 0–8 minutes of parking costs $2.00, while 8 minutes to an hour costs $1.00. One to three hours of parking costs $2.00, three to six hours costs $4.00, six to nine hours costs $6.00 and nine to twenty-four hours will cost $10.00. Covered parking is slightly more expensive, at $12.00 per nine to twenty-four hours.

Valet parking is available at all terminals of Dallas Airport. An ‘open door’ policy applies, which means that customers do not need to reserve the parking space. When arriving at the airport, cars can be dropped off at any of the one-hour zones at Terminals A, B, C and E, and at the curbside of the departure level of Terminal D. Cars will be parked on behalf of the customer in covered garages, on airport property, and are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A passenger’s vehicle will be waiting in the same location as where it was dropped off on his/her return to the airport. Valet parking is charged at $22.00 per day, and can be paid for in cash or by major credit card.

At Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, there are 7,000 parking spaces in the Express Parking areas, almost 4800 spaces in the Remote Parking lots and many more in the garages nearby the terminal buildings. Motorists will therefore find plenty of convenient spaces available.
