Dallas Fort Worth Airport is one of the largest airports in the world, handling over 69 million passengers per year. The blue and green vans are available every ten minutes for transfer to another terminal, and are a free service. The buses are found at two ‘green’ pick-up/drop-off areas outside the baggage reclaim areas of the terminals, and are indicated by signs that read ‘Terminal Link’. They operate between the hours of 05:00 and midnight, every day of the week. The free airport shuttles are also accessible for wheel chair bound passengers.

DART Bus Services

The DART buses at Fort Worth Airport serve the Remote North parking lot and the Remote South parking lot at the airport. Shuttle buses from convenient locations at the terminals reach these two areas. There are two routes that serve the airport, and they are known as the Route 310 and the Route 408. The fleet of DART buses that serve Dallas Airport are very reliable and well-maintained vehicles. They are also clean and made as safe as possible for the use of all passengers. Another great advantage of DART buses is that they are wheelchair accessible, and passengers with mobility challenges are welcome. There are wheelchair lifts to assist passengers to enter and exit the bus, and the elderly and people with disabilities reserve seats nearby the front door for use. In each bus, there are two spaces whereby wheelchairs can be secured, as per ADA standards, and passengers may also request lap or shoulder belts. The operators of the buses are also more than willing to offer assistance. The bus operator announces each major intersection on route, and call buttons are available for you to signal the driver about a block away from your stop. Guide dogs or other service animals are permitted on the DART vehicles.

The Route 310 bus at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport is available on weekdays, approximately every fifteen to thirty minutes, and departs from the Remote North parking lot. This bus travels to the North Irving Transit Center, between the hours of 06:00 and 23:00. Passengers arriving at the airport who would like to reach downtown Dallas will use the Route 310 buses. Once arriving at the North Irving Transit Center, the Express Route 202 bus heads downtown. Upon your return to Dallas Airport, use the same buses in the alternative order. From downtown Dallas take the Express Route 202 to the North Irving Transit Center, and the Route 310 to Dallas Airport.

The Route 408 bus from Dallas Airport runs seven days a week; therefore this bus should be used over weekends. It is also available every fifteen to thirty minutes from the airport, but departs from the Remote South parking lot. Its destinations are South Irving Station and the Medical/Market Center Station. It stops at the Harry Hines and Butler bus stop, and from here passengers can transfer to the Route 409 Illinois Station bus in order to reach the Cityplace Station for DART Rail connections. In the alternative direction, the Route 408 buses depart from the Harry Hines and Butler bus stop, or passengers can take the Route 409 Parkland bus from Cityplace Station to the Harry Hines and Butler bus stop.

The DART bus fares are extremely reasonable, and affordable for all passengers travelling to and from Dallas Airport. A single bus trip ranges in price from $1.75 to $3.50, or day passes can be purchased which will cover your bus fares for the whole day, for unlimited rides. A System one-day pass is $7.00 and a local one-day pass is $4.00. If you do not have a day pass, the correct change must be on hand for the pay machines on the buses. They accept dollar bills and coins, and smaller change. Reduced fares may be applicable for certain passengers.

The Airporter

The Airporter is another bus service available at Dallas-Fort Worth, and mainly travels to all the major downtown Fort Worth hotels and the Airporter parking lot. These buses are operated by the Yellow Checker Shuttle Company, and are available seven days a week. There are two convenient pick-up points at each terminal building at the airport. Bus fares for the Airporter are also very reasonable, and are collected upon arrival at or departure from Dallas Airport. Passengers are recommended to provide the exact change, or they may even use a major credit card. Transport to other hotels can also be provided, but an advanced reservation will be required.
